Trekking of the Baltoro - Pakistan

The season of trekking in the Karakorum begins in the middle of May and finalizes at the end of October being a priori the months of July and August those of greater atmospheric stability. Nevertheless it is not necessary to forget that this is a zone of high mountain and therefore, the climatology can vary and become at any time adverse.

The route stars is the Trekking of the Baltoro, that goes from Askole to Concord to 4,600 meters. In this great natural place - greatest of the Earth - 3 glaciers come together: the Vigne, the Baltoro and the Godwin-Austen. Trek crosses the Baltoro glacier. One advances times on and the others to its side, by the slope of the valley. The mountains guard that it are of first order: Muztagh tower (7,273 ms), the Tower of the Trango (6,251 ms), the Masherbrum (7,821 ms), Gasherbrum IV (7,920 ms), the K2 (8,611 ms) and the Chogolisa (7,665 ms) among others.
Once arrived at Concord, trekking on the continuous glacier towards the passage of the Gondogoro, a col located to 5,600 meters, between the glaciers Vigne and Hustre.

Expedition Andalusian “Gasherbrum II 2006 - 8035 mtrs-

The Trekking of the Baltoro, without a doubt is had deserved the names of being of trekkings more beautiful duros and of the planet. Hard, to walk by diverse lands (earth, sand, stones, ice and bridges) and sometimes to be something it breaks legs (continuous moraine hills). Beautiful, to be surrounded by virgin nature, immense glaciers, impressive valleys and terrible walls that lead by complex routes to the highest and wished mountains of the planet (Masherbrum, Towers of the Trango, Mustang Tower, Miter, Broad Peak, K2, Gasherbrum IV, etc).

As a summary, the Expedition had the following periods: in transfers and managements 6 days took care; for trekking (by the Baltoro) of approach to the CB 7 days took; in the mountain we were 23 days; for trekking (by Ghondogoro) of return we needed 3 days and in transfers and managements to the return about 7 days.

Trekking to the Glacial Baltoro

The day dawns storm cloud, left to walk to 6´00 h, has a zone of precipices that we crossed before entering the glacier of the Baltoro. We arrive at the base of the glacier and to begin we must raise a raised pebbles incline, the ice this underneath and it is not seen. We see cracks and holes that are covering the rocks that with their roar scare to us sometimes. In the short while we began to see the famous Towers of the Trango, that we have the luck of which they are not covered by clouds. We finish crossing the glacier of the Baltoro of izqda to dcha to step on earth in the called zone Lilingo, where we eat a little.
We enter the glacier of Baltoro again and now the thing is put ugly, fall the first drops and when arriving at the camping thank heavens that already the stores have mounted us. A storm falls that no longer stops in all night. As of this day we are going to have a scent to gasoline within the store they have put since it upon a spot and the store has stained, esterilla and coat.

Trekking by the Baltoro - Karakorum

During the summer of this year 2004, a group of palentinos fans to the mountain, we decided to make reality a long illusion dreamed time: To do trekking of the Baltoro in the Karakorum and to see in direct one of the most spectacular landscapes of the planet.

There we stepped on the immense Baltoro glacier, that drawing for the immense towers of the Trango and between imposing ice blocks after long days of trekking, left us in Concord, one of the mythical places of the world-wide montañismo.
From we could here descry the Biblical dimensions of mountains like the Gasherbrum, the Broad Peak, and on all of them at the end of the glacier Goldwin Austin, the mountain of mountains the Chogori or K2. The second higher Earth mountain than was allied with the fortune, so that we arrived at its right base the day that was fulfilled 50 years of his first ascent.
